Rule 81 - Effective Date; Applicability(a) Effective Date. These rules and any amendments take effect at the time specified by the Supreme Court.(b) Applicability. Upon the effective date, a rule or amendment governs: (1) proceedings in an action commenced after its effective date; and(2) proceedings after that date in a pending action unless: (A) the Supreme Court specifies otherwise in its order adopting the rule or amendment; or(B) the court determines that applying the rule or amendment in a particular action would be infeasible or work an injustice, in which event the former rule or procedure applies.Amended effective 1/1/2017.
